VFGC is stands for Västerås Fighting Game Club. It is an organization that hosts fighting game meets and tournaments.
You can join our discord server here!
We play games and talk in voice chat a lot.
VFGC is famous for bringing up some of the best players in Super Smash Bros. Melee and BlazBlue: CentralFiction!
The best melee player in the entire WORLD has his roots in, and is a part of VFGC. His name is Mathias, nickname Red (or RedBlaze).
The best BlazBlue: CF player in the world is coincidentally the president of VFGC. His name is Viking, nickname Havre.
Västerås Fighting Game Club is NOT to be confused with The Virginia Forage and Grassland Council.
Meetups and tournaments!
Usually, we have two meetups at our venue per week, but corona is fucking us in the ass right now. (Check in from 2021: ass is very sore right now, might need some lube for this...)

The history of VFGC
Long ago, before the time of VFGC, there were only some smashers.
They were holding tournaments at one of the smashers house, and later at console (a small store that used to sell retro games and curiosa).
Everything was governed from a facebook page, and there weren't that many people involved (around 10-14 at most).
The latter half of 2016 there started to be regular tournaments held at console. The fighting game scene started to grow as well, as some people started playing Street Fighter V as well.
At Console the first of legendary series of Kebabmatches between Poder and Sharp was held. It was truly a sight to behold!
Then everything changed, when console when bankrupt, around Christmas 2016.
Only an organization, master of all the fighting games, could save them.
But when Westeros need one the most, it vanished.
3 months past and my bretheren and I decided to start a new organization.
A fighting game organization called VFGC.
Although the organization was great, they still had a lot to learn to be the master of all fighting games.
But I believe, VFGC can save Westeros.
VFGC was founded on March 2:nd 2017 by a group of 7 smashers.
At first, all of VFGC:s meets were held at Kåren, which is just next to the university of Westeros.
The setups had to be pulled out, and driven from smashers houses to Kåren, mostly by Boris and Hope. Real heroes those two!
The first venue was acquired in november 2017, in Växhuset, Västerås. It was a hard battle to keep the meets going for a while, with some meets only having 2 people, and many meets were canceled.
But the VFGC crew would not give up! Everyone did a great job to keep the organization alive and after some time more people started to show up!
Then, 2 years after the venue was acquired, in November 2019 we had to move out. The kind people over at ABF (god bless Robert, the actual savior and hero of VFGC) who supplied us with the place suggested a new venue for us to move in to. At first some of us was a bit disheartened, but we didn't have much of a choice. It turned out that the new venue was slightly smaller, but overall better than the old one! Now VFGC is as big as it has ever been!
The future looks very bright for VFGC!
